Tonic Sol-fa has established itself not only as the most in-demand vocal group in the Midwest, but also one of the most successful independent acts in America. The group has toured extensively throughout the US and abroad, building their financial base with a steady list of festivals and private shows that eventually led to numerous sold-out tours of theaters and small arenas. Join us on Tuesday, December 11, 7:30 PM for this exciting event. Tickets: $27 adults, $25 seniors and students, ½ price military.
Songs for a New World, the third show in ETC’s 2012-13 season, sits on the boundary between musical and song cycle, but it is neither; it is an abstract musical, a series of songs all connected by a theme: "the moment of decision. Composer Jason Robert Brown has said of his show, "It's about one moment. It's about hitting the wall and having to make a choice, or take a stand, or turn around and go back.” Songs For A New World is brought to you by Northern Plains Railroad and will show December 27, 28, and 29, 7:30 PM. Tickets: Call 701.746.5500.
With the support of our community members we continue to be able to serve as the cultural center for the city of Grand Forks and its surrounding area. The Empire allows community arts groups to focus on producing their events instead of having to concentrate on the responsibility and costs associated with facility management. At some point, almost everyone in Grand Forks is affected by the Empire. The wear and tear of over 30,000 people per year takes its toll, so we would like to ask at this time for your help so that we may continue our mission. Also, as a savvy donor, you know this time of year is a great time for year-end, tax deductible gifts. If you chose to give, we thank you for your generosity and ask that you visit the Support page for information on giving to the Empire.
Whether you are keeping old traditions alive or starting a new one, the holiday season is certainly a special time. From all of us here at the Empire Arts Center, we wish you a happy and healthy holiday season.
