Kyle Riabko: Richard Rodgers Reimagined at The 1919 Lounge

Accompanying himself on guitar, Kyle Riabko brings his extraordinary contemporary arrangements of Richard Rodgers’ cherished standards to vivid life in this highly acclaimed solo show. Riabko previously starred on Broadway in both Spring Awakening and Hair, and in his teen years performed as an opening act for such artists as BB King, James Brown, John Mayer, Keb Mo, Jason Mraz and Maroon 5, among others. About Kyle

Kyle Riabko is a singer, guitarist, composer and actor who grew up in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Before starring on Broadway in both Spring Awakening and Hair, Kyle released a full-length album of original music on Columbia/Aware Records and spent his teen years appearing as an opening act for a wide range of artists including: B B King, James Brown, John Mayer, Keb Mo, Buddy Guy, Jason Mraz, and Maroon 5, among others.

After appearing in various film and television roles, Kyle created and starred in What’s It All About? Bacharach Reimagined at New York Theatre Workshop, the original Off Broadway theatre where Rent, Once, and the recent David Bowie musical Lazarus all originated. The production was named “One of the Year’s 10 Best” by Charles Isherwood in The New York Times, received a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Revue, an Outer Critics Circle Award nomination for Outstanding New Off-Broadway Musical and four Lucille Lortel Award nominations, including ones for Outstanding Musical and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Musical for Kyle.

The show subsequently moved to London¹s Menier Chocolate Factory where it received rave reviews before transferring to the West End¹s historic Criterion Theatre where it was highly acclaimed and broke Criterion box office records as Close To You: Bacharach Reimagined.

Riabko produced The Original London Cast Recording of Close To You: Bacharach Reimagined which was released by Ghostlight Records on June 24, 2016.
