A.R. Gurney's Love Letters

Does anyone still write love letters? Love emails? Love – texts? The Empire Theatre Company is celebrating the written language of love in February with a special performance of A.R. Gurney’s Love Letters, as read by Peter and Marsha Johnson at the Empire Arts Center. The play focuses on the correspondence between a couple over fifty years of their relationship. Each character reads letters, postcards, and notes they’ve received from the other.

While people are listening to the play, which is both humorous and poignant, they are invited to indulge in a scrumptious “chocolate bar” – a buffet of chocolate baked items and a chocolate fountain with fruit and cookies for dipping.

The event is limited to the first 100 people who purchase tickets. Tickets are $25 with proceeds benefitting the Empire Theatre Company’s 11th season, which will culminate in June with a very different love story: Tony ‘n Tina’s Wedding.

Reservations are strongly encouraged: 701-746-550 or www.empireartscenter.com
