  • Fruit Sandwich Tasting: Sample a favorite treat from Japan

  • Under The Moon book signing: meet local author Sarah Coomber

  • Japanese Language Info: Learn about camps and study opportunities

  • Friendship Cities: Discover the Grand Forks–Kanuma connection

Enjoy a Shotokan Karate demo followed by a beginner-friendly lesson.

6:30 – 6:45 PM | Student Presentation
Hear from local high school students who visited Kanuma, Japan, and share in their exchange experiences. Meet local author who lived in Japan and wrote a memoir about her experience and hear from a UND Music doctoral student who went on music exchange in Kanuma

6:45 – 8:45 PM | Movie Screening – Perfect Days
Watch the acclaimed film Perfect Days

8:45 – 9:00 PM | Post-Film Discussion
Stay for a short conversation to reflect on the film and cultural themes.
