The Empire's monthly Music Box features 3 local acts, as well as an open-to-the-public jam at the start of every show. If you're interested in live, local music, the Music Box is the place to be! Come for the music, stay for the good vibes(and the free popcorn).
Doors open at 6:00 PM, open-jam starts at 7:00 PM
The Music Box is one of the only venues in Grand Forks that allows artists to play what they want, and our Music Box stage helps to give any musician a platform to perform, regardless the genre or experience.
Tickets available by donation at the door. Recommended Donation of $10.
Meet The Artists:
Project Constellation
Project Constellation is an acoustic-folk-rock-punk-pop (and more) duo from Grand Forks ND. Their songs are influenced anywhere from old Irish folk music to modern day punk. They also perform Swedish and Norwegian songs (and now Finnish and Danish!) sung in their languages.
The Incolor Collective
The incolor Collective is a jazz quintet based out of Grand Forks, ND featuring Dan on Trumpet, Lex on Saxophone, Dylan on keys, Theresa on Bass, and Xander on Set. Incolor plays a variety of jazz from the straight ahead classics to your modern day favorites. They play for wide range of venues and crowds, including weddings, jazz nights, and local music festivals
The I-29 Experience
The I-29 Experience is a trio from Grand Forks, ND, bringing back the classic country, blues, and rock sounds of the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, and beyond. Originally formed through jam sessions at the Empire Theater and the first Empire Arts Center “Build-a-band” program, the I-29 Experience has built a setlist of fiery blues standards, southern rock classics, honky-tonk staples, and other hits you forgot you loved!
