The Empire's monthly Music Box features 3 acts, as well as an open-to-the-public jam at the start of every show. This month’s music box will feature TBD Trio (GF), Taiyamo Denku (Milwaukee, WI), and Spare Parts (GF)! If you're interested in live, local music, the Music Box is the place to be! The Music Box is one of the only venues in Grand Forks that allows artists to play what they want, and our Music Box stage helps to give any musician a platform to perform, regardless the genre or experience.

Meet the Artists!
TBD Trio is a Vocal-Acoustic group based out of Fargo-Moorhead. Featuring Tony Peterson (T), Bailey Krusen (B), and David Triptow (D), the trio specializes in reworking songs across genres and time periods in their own unique style. Tony, originally of Grand Forks, and Bailey and David, originally of Fargo, have all earned degrees in the performing arts and work together at West Fargo Sheyenne High School directing musical theatre. They found their friendship and love of performing developed naturally into singing together, and four years ago, TBD was born.
“I am Taiyamo Denku (Jason Miller), a hip hop artist based out of Milwaukee, WI. I have been doing music for nearly 30 years now. I have 48 released projects and been on 23 national tours and 1 Canadian tour. I have my own brand called CyphaDen Music, but am also a part of Onyx's label 100MAD as well as have had past ties to Protect Your Neck records (Wu Tang), BattleAxe Warriors based out of Canada, and Uncommon Records out of Staten Island NY. I'm a crew member of Hecatomb which is a crew created by Carnage The Executioner based out of Minneapolis MN. I'm also a affiliated artist of Goon MuSick/Snowgoons based out of Stuggart, Germany.”
“My live show consists of Emceeing and performing my original songs, singing some hooks, vocal dj scratches, beatboxing or Vocal percussion, and improv freestyling or off the head rapping. I have song collaborations ranging from Busta Rhymes, Lil Kim, Snoop Dogg, Jadakiss, Onyx , Krs One, Kool G Rap, Conway, and Benny the Butcher just to name a few. I also have worked with great artists from past & present.”
Established in 2025, Spare Parts is a 90s poprock band with sprinkles of 70s, 80s, and 2000s. Spare Parts is made up of four millennials based out of Greater Grand Forks, North Dakota.
