UND Art Collections Opening Reception
Join us for an opening reception and special preview of the newest exhibit, #InYourFace - Reflections on Contemporary Portraiture. The reception is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. Student Presentations/Gallery Talk will be held at 5:15pm.
This student-led art exhibition features several examples of portraiture from the University’s Art Collections. From 19th century caricatures to the modern day concept of the selfie, viewers will enjoy a fascinating selection of art while quite literally becoming part of the exhibition. Although the hashtags and wit will keep the viewer amused – the effort and intellect applied to this exhibition by the Spring 2019 Intro to Fine Arts Honors class will lead the audience on a thought provoking journey.
Make a night of it! Enjoy an art and theatre double feature at the Empire by attending The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time after the reception.

UND Art Collections Opening Reception
Join us for an opening reception and special preview of the newest exhibit, Fables, Insults, and Reverence: The Animals of UND Art Collections. The reception is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
This exhibition gives viewers the opportunity to enjoy a selection of animal-centric works of art. From the chicken-people of Francisco Goya to the horses of Walter Piehl, a variety of insects, birds, fish, and mammals have come together to tell a tale of how they have each been employed by artists across the centuries to illustrate stories, create allegory, and demonstrate their relationships with humankind.
Exhibition dates: January 22-March 31, 2019
