Great Plains Harmony is a chorus of men who love to sing and are always looking to add more. They primarily focus on singing barbershop songs and barbershop arrangements of various genres, from jazz to rock to pop and more. The chorus also occasionally sings non-barbershop songs like traditional choral arrangements and gospel. Their focus is to perform at the highest musical level and to entertain their audiences. Each member is committed to learning music outside of rehearsal so that valuable rehearsal time is spent improving the ensemble.
Founded May 23rd 1950, Great Plains Harmony is one of Fargo Moorhead’s longest established music ensembles. They have partnered with area arts groups including the Lake Agassiz Girls Choir, Red River Boys Choir and Vocal Express Women’s Choir. As members of the Barbershop Harmony Society, the chorus regularly competes and typically places as one of the top five choruses within a five state region.Guest Performer Bio:
Hannah Diers has been making music with her dad and sister as part of The Diers for nearly 20 years. They’re known for their tight three-part harmonies on covers of songs such as Seven Bridges Road by The Eagles and have played at numerous venues including county fairs, arts festivals, and even a haunted hotel! Hannah is also very active in the local theater scene. Some notable roles include Johanna in Sweeney Todd (Empty State Theatre), Inga in Young Frankenstein (Empire Theatre Company), and Fraulein Kost in Cabaret (Greater Grand Forks Community Theatre). When she’s not on stage, Hannah enjoys watching movies with her wonderful boyfriend Walter (also an avid theater performer), curling up with a good book, and exploring a wide variety of arts and crafts.
